Women environmental defenders (WEDs) face both online and offline violence due to their activism. In 2023, Global Witness recorded 196 murders of environmental defenders, mostly in Latin America. This study focuses on online gender-based violence against WEDs in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, highlighting how digital attacks affect their personal lives and activism.
